それを他人は「天の邪鬼」と言うかもしれない。
「ひねくれ者」と揶揄するかもれない。
「面倒な奴」と煙たがるかもしれない。
“無難”を嫌い、“常識”に疑問を持ち、“平穏”に不安を感じる。
年齢を重ねるほどになおさら痛切に思う
気を許せばいつ自らが陥っておかしくないからこそ
今、しっかりと心根に刻みたい。
創造するということ。
自分も他人も未だ見たことのないものを生み出すということ。
つくり手も見る者も同じように初めての出現と遭遇に心ざわめく事件。
ゆえに自己模倣は作業であってもけっして創造ではない。
そして自己模倣を“作風”という言葉に置き換えてはならない。
常に創造しつづける姿勢こそを“作風”にしなければいけない。
皆が求めるものは過去の自分。
皆の想像を超えるものを提示することが創造であり
それを恐れたり面倒に思った時、創造の火は消える。
皆の想像を裏切るということは、なによりも期待に応えるということ。
そしてそのことを期待されるつくり手になること。
リスクの無い創造にチカラは無い。
だからいつまでも変わらず、変わり続けること。
Creation is not over.

Some people might refer me as “a perverse.”
Another might banter me “a cynical chap”
Others might be insufferable of me as being “a troubled lad”
Being resistant to be stable, pursuing the truth in the society and feeling uneasy against the total peace.
As people gets older, we tends to place ourselves in the comfortable position.
But here I firmly carve these words in my mind.
Creation
To produce something that nobody has ever seen before.
An exciting moment of the birth and the encounter not only for the audience but
for the creator.
I believe that imitating my own work is just manufacturing and do not regard it as a creation.
Additionally, imitating myself cannot be conveniently called a “style.”
Continuous effort for creation has to be the one named “style.”
People tends to demand me in the past works.
Present something which exceeds everyone’s expectation is a creation.
When I fear or neglect it, my fire of creation will be extinct.
Cheating everyone’s expectation means responding well to them.
As a creator, I wish everyone to expect surprises from me.
No creation has the power if no risk is made.
Change continuously.
Creation is not over.
